Location: Home-based, anywhere in EU with travel frequency up to 30%

o2h Discovery is a provider of drug discovery services to biotech collaborators around the globe with in-house capabilities to execute hit-lead-optimization drug discovery programs leading into patent and IND filing. The services that we provide include synthetic and medicinal chemistry, hit finding using our proprietary fragment library, ADMET and discovery biology to support primary and secondary screening. o2h Group is developing two sites, a 2.7 Acre site in Cambridge, UK and 70,000 SqFt. research campus in Ahmedabad, India. o2h has recently developed AI-CITCTM which is the world’s first app to revolutionize external discovery and preclinical development program management. We are looking to build the global business development team to support our growth. We are seeking a person in Europe but would also like to hear from interested professionals in the USA, Europe and Japan.

Position Summary

This is a business development position responsible for establishment, growth, as well as management of sales and technical marketing of o2H’s integrated services in the European/US territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships, managing accounts and securing opportunities for selling drug discovery stand alone and integrated services in Synthetic Chemistry, Biology, DMPK, Pharmacology. He/she will identify and close new projects as well as expand existing Outsourced Chemistry Projects. Critical to the success of this role is coordination with all the project stakeholders for smooth and successful execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a deep understanding of the ongoing business and collaborators.
  • Establishing and executing business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy
  • Cultivating relationships, managing accounts and securing opportunities for selling o2H’s drug discovery stand-alone and integrated services in Chemistry, Biology, DMPK and Pharmacology.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements
  • Responding to Requests for Proposals in a quick and efficient manner
  • Engaging with the ongoing collaborators to identify new business opportunities.
  • Responding to Requests for Proposals in a quick and efficient manner
  • Interacting with members of the management team to ensure proposals / contracts are consistent with execution plans
  • Updating Business Development databases to include opportunities, proposals issued, approved projects, and BD activities and other tracking indices
  • Representing o2H at industry events, trade shows, networking events and webinars
  • Assisting in the creation of o2H marketing literature and advertisements

Job requirements

Key requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s in chemistry or biology. Advanced degree preferred
  • 5-10 years experience selling services, developing pipeline of opportunities, and closing sales
  • Complete understanding of the discovery process/needs to identify and recommend solutions for client outsource chemistry needs
  • Experience selling and/or representing CRO services to Preclinical Pharmaceutical and Biotech clients
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience in managing RFI/RFP/RFQ and collaborators visits
  • A team player that can maintain effective communication and manage daily work schedules with cross functional team(s) based out of India
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
