o2h Ventures - Business Development Manager in the UK

Job description

The vision of o2h group is to seed new ideas in life science, technology, and social enterprise. The investment company of the o2h group, o2h Ventures is an established fund manager and has most recently launched the first HMRC approved knowledge intensive fund in the UK. This fund is pivotal in developing the biotech ecosystem in the o2h Group but also has invested into over 30 early stage biotech companies in Great Britain; several of these have moved on further to raise significant capital from overseas and build game changing drugs to benefit human health.

The o2h group is headquartered in the heart of the Cambridge Life Sciences ecosystem in the Mill SciTech Park at the recently acquired Hauxton Mill site. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to fundraise for our tax efficient funds through a developed IFA network. The two live funds are:

1. The o2h human health SEIS Fund

2. The o2h human health EIS knowledge intensive Fund


Job requirements

The roles and responsibilities shall include:

  • Increasing the number of IFA’s, Wealth Managers and sophisticated investors who positively engage with o2h Ventures.

  • Engaging with the scientific investment team to understand portfolio developments and up-coming investments and communicate this to new and existing investors.

  • Supporting inbound Financial Advisers queries.

  • Working to improve our offering from marketing to administration support.

  • Implement regional sales and marketing campaigns.

  • Attend and support IFA and industry conferences/seminars.

  • Constantly improve product and industry knowledge.


The candidate will demonstrate

  • Experience in dealing with IFA’s, Wealth Managers and High Networth Individuals.

  • A sound level of knowledge in tax advantaged investment products (KI, EIS and SEIS)

  • Enthusiasm for investing into promising high‐growth scientific businesses

  • The ability to build long term relationships built on trust and respect

  • Excellent communication skills across all platforms

  • Strong and flexible work ethic

You will have a graduate degree and have at least 1-2 years experience specifically in tax planning investments including EIS products, developing relationships with IFA/Wealth Manager. It is a full-time position which could be remote or on-site in Cambridge reporting directly to the VP of Business Development. You shall be eligible to work in the UK or have an appropriate visa. The salary shall be negotiable based on your experience, track record, and qualifications.
