Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize and validate biophysical and cell-based assay platforms for the hit to lead identification, lead optimization and functional characterization of small molecules
  • Ability to work on the bench implementing state-of-the-art technologies for the different assay platforms
  • Capability to perform basic molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry experiments
  • Plan experiments, order reagents, set up assay platforms and deliver them in a timely fashion
  • Regular data analysis, project updates, literature survey and presentations on the target

Job requirements

    • Strong experience in assay development and screening
    • Broad research experience in cell-free and cell-based assay development like using luminescence, fluorescence, TR-FRET, FP, fluorescent immunocytochemistry, high content analysis, automated microscopy and other in vitro detection technologies
    • Experience in the generation of stable cell lines, cell cycle analysis, cell survival/ proliferation, FRET, FLIM, immunocytochemistry, epifluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy and/or high-content imaging and analysis will be an advantage
    • Managerial experience of junior scientists
    • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
    • Ability to participate in project team meetings and contribute in the project(s) intellectually
    • An ability to overcome technical challenges and exercise sound judgment under pressure
    • High self-motivation to initiate projects and work independently under aggressive deadlines
    • A strong technical knowledge with exceptional attention to detail
    • An excellent personal rapport and an ability to engender trust and respect
    • An ability to work well as part of a small focussed team and build relationships
